• Junior Ambassador Program

    • Junior Ambassadors have a responsibility in actively volunteering and participate in ALL activities.  The major events for the year include: , (1) The Boaz Annual Harvest Festival, (2) The Boaz Christmas Parade, (3) Dashing through Downtown and (4) The Boaz Chamber Banquet.  Other events may provide additional volunteer opportunities.  Failure to participate in all events without a valid and written excuse can result in dismissal from the program.
    • Any Junior Ambassador who misses three (3) meetings will be removed and an alternate assigned in that place. Three (3) tardies to meetings will count as an absence.
    • Prior service and attendance records will impact applications for the following year(s).


  • Applicant Qualifications

    • Must be a BHS sophomore, junior or senior.
    • Must have maintained a minimum of an 80 average in core curriculum subjects during the past school year, proven by the transcript attached to this application and signed by the school counselor and/or principal.
    • Must meet school system requirements concerning attendance and behavior, as indicated in the BCSS Student Handbook.
    • The selection process will consist of two phases –“Objective criteria Application with Essay” and “Interview”.
    • Only those students completing and submitting the “Objective Criteria Application with Essay” will be eligible for the “Interview“ process.
    • The “Objective Criteria Application with Essay” will comprise 60% of the applicant’s total score (Objective Criteria 30% and Essay 30%) and the “Interview” will comprise 40% of the applicant’s total score.
    • The top scorers (total combined scores) will be the program participants for the current school year.
    • The number of Junior Ambassadors chosen may vary from year to year depending upon the needs of the Chamber.
  • Senior Scholarship Requirements:

    • The selection process will consist of current (and any prior year) service hours, attendance records, and an essay application.
    • Senior Scholarship Essay Application forms will be available at the regular meeting in February 2022.
    • The application must be turned in to the Boaz Chamber President by  March 16, 2022 by 5:00 p.m.
    • The Winner (s) will be announced at the Boaz Chamber Banquet.
